The Story of our Adoption Journey to Russia to bring home our new son, Jack

Back in the USSR ok the Russian Federation
Well, we've made it. Everything was pretty uneventful. Allie did great, slept some on the flight and is doing fine. Security at the Dulles airport was very tight. They searched every passenger and hand searched every carry on bag. It was a little unsettling at first, but it was actually reassuring.
Anastasia met us at the airport with a MINIVAN, hallelujah, hallelujah. Her first words were "You've got a lot of luggage". About the luggage..... We ended up with 4 large bags to check. Each bag could only weigh 70 pounds. Well one of the bags was over, so they let Vonda rearrange some things. After she rearranged, the offending bag was under weight and the bag she moved it to was now over 10 pounds. At this point we said they're for an orphanage. The ticket agent immediately said well why didn't you say that earlier?, we'll just let it slide. Guess we should have turned that on earlier.
We will see Jack tomorrow at 10:00. We'll see him on Tuesday and then have court on Wednesday. We should be able to pick him up after court on Wednesday if they can get all the paperwork done. Please pray for that. Anastasia says everything looks good for us getting to come home next Saturday.
We'll talk to you all soon.
Love Steve, Vonda and Allie

Today I said, "I wonder if there's anything on Steve and Vonda's blog yet?" Rob went to check, and Joey said, "I bet Allie's already in Russia!" I said, "Did your class pray for Allie today?" He said, "Yup!" So, tell Allie her Sunday School buddies prayed for her today. So thankful you've got the court date. Prayerful that all will go smoothly for you this week, and that your reunion with Jack is full of happiness! Oh, the emotion! I'll be singing your song a lot this week as I prepare to go into the studio next week. I feel strongly that God has big plans for your family, and am enjoying sitting back and watching it all unfold.
Steve, Vonda and Allie, I am so glad that you had an uneventful trip over. Gramps prayed for you all this morning at church. Everyone is so excited and waiting for Jack to get here. Tell Allie that her Papa also talked about her and Jack in class today. Morgan said she forgot to give Allie the bears she had to send to Jack's friends. She is really a bit confused as she was looking for Allie today at lunch - didn't realize she couldn't just pop in from Russia. Maybe, Mrs. Hensley or Mrs. Kuhns could get busy teaching some world social studies. You all stay safe and our prayers are with you. By the way, Gramps found the keys to your car and Jennifer will not be able to drive since Gramps is taking on the title as best driver. Love, You know who
I'm so glad you all made it there safely. I can't believe you had to rearrange your packing-I'm surprised you didn't go postal on that one. We're thinking and praying for you and a smooth transition for Jack. I couldn't stop thinking about you in church-two weeks from today, we will see a little head popping up between you, taking everything in. Gotta get a blownex.
Love you,
Kristi
Vonda and Steve, So glad the trip went so well for Allie. Praise God the court date is set. I am praying for your reunion and Allie's big sister day. Enjoy this precious day, children are such a gift. We are planning to wake early (4am) on Wed. for prayer. We love you four. The Creech family
Steve, Vonda, and Allie - We have been watching about every day for an update on when you were going back. We are living vicariously through you! You four will be in our thoughts and our prayers. Mike and Della Stephenson.
I am so glad that you had a safe trip-- one answered prayer under our belt... just so you know we did teach a Social Studies lesson -we even used a globe- we are definitely hightech--tell Allie that our Sunday morning class also looked at a globe and had a special prayer by Gunner for her and your family- tomorrow we are going to gather together with Mrs.Kuhn's class again to send a class blog. May you have a blessed day -- and as the week gets hectic as it sounds like it might-- may you feel peace that all is about complete. love to you all Nan
